Katie Darden

Katie founded Meridian Analytics to bring bespoke tech-powered solutions and data expertise to small law practices. Working closely with attorneys and their clients, and drawing on her extensive background in research, writing, and data analysis, Katie delves into each matter to help achieve the best possible client outcomes.

​Katie oversees firm operations, finance and analytics functions for Atlanta-based employment law firm Verse Legal, a client of Meridian Analytics. She leverages her expertise in data analytics and document review to support complex client projects and to drive research into the intersections between law; employment; and diversity, equity and inclusion. 

​Before founding Meridian, Katie was a research director at S&P Global Market Intelligence, where she built an international financial institutions research practice and orchestrated market research surveys. As part of the company's research governance board, Katie developed policies and procedures for topics including content creation, ethics, and research models. Katie also headed S&P Global's cross-divisional Diversity in the Markets Research Lab, for which she developed proprietary research methodologies, led data governance and authored high-profile research projects. Katie previously headed the U.S. financials news desk at SNL Financial, leading a global team of journalists, developing best practices for data-driven publications, and training team members from around the world.

Katie graduated from the University of Virginia (B.A., Linguistics and Russian and East European Studies) and the University of Michigan (M.A., History and Russian and East European Studies). While at the University of Michigan, she taught advanced courses and mentored students. Katie holds a certificate in Data Analytics and Visualization from the George Washington University College of Professional Studies. She lives in Charlottesville, Virginia, with her husband and two children.
